Top Lessons by Walter Mosley
Inspired by Walter Mosley's Master Class
About routine:
- Most people get out and write every day for 2-3hrs
- By one year you will have a decent draft with 60.000-70.000 words - 500 Pages
- Push through hard times by writing every day
About failure:
- A large part of our life is failure, that’s ok there will be another day
- A blank page is not a judgement to you
- Rewriting is where your novel starts
- If you write everyday you will get better tomorrow
About the reader:
- Make the reader turn the page after every sentence
- The character has to to be impacted by this world - learn something new, become better
- Make it so that the reader is involved
About the transformation as a writer:
- Writing is like the discovery of your own self
- Becoming a creator will transform you
- Celebrate the process of writing
- Write your own truth and believe it
- Say all the things which you can’t say in real life through writing
- With a novel you can live your fantasy and escape from everyday life 💫 (my favorite)
