The reading journey in 2020

This year was a personal record for me. I discovered reading for myself. I ended up reading 20 books in 2020 - good to remember ;-).

Yeah, you must be thinking, where did she take the time for it?

Actually, I stopped all my other activities. I used to be a big victim of social media. Somehow I managed to be more disciplined this year.

I only used it upload a memory for my feed and tried not to get lost in other people’s stalking cycle. This year taught me to accept myself more instead of punishing myself with self doubt. Unfollowing people whose life I was jealous of helped. Stop-ping to compare my life to theirs changed my perspective to myself. On the conscious and un-conscious level I could accept myself for who I am. Some lessons I got from one inspirational and transformative book which you will hear about soon on this blog.

You might think in 2020 it was easier said and done cause there were many lockdowns and travel bans and people are forced to stay at home. Yes, could be. But I hope this time, once I sowed the seeds for my habits...

Another recommendation is reading while any kind of transportation. It can be on the train, on the flight or in the bus on the way to work for example. It doesn’t matter the time of commuting even 20 minutes a day can support you on your reading journey. It’s an easy way to integrate reading into your day.
